《論語》《為政》2.17 :

子曰：「由！誨女知之乎？知之為知之，不知為不知，是知也。」[※ 诲女知之乎 — 女，汝也。]

The Master said, “Yu, shall I teach you what knowledge is? When you know a thing, to hold that you know it; and when you do not know a thing, to allow that you do not know it – this is knowledge.”

【Alternative translation】The Master said, “Yu, shall I teach thee what is wisdom? To know what we know, and know what we do not know, is wisdom.”

【原文】子曰：「由，诲女知之乎！知之为知之，不知为不知，是知也。」

【白话解】 孔子说：「仲由啊！我教你『知』的道理吧！你知道的就说知道，不知道的就说不知道，这才是真正的『知』。」

【试译】孔子说：“由啊，告诉你什么叫做 ‘知道’ 吧。知道就是知道，不知道就是不知道，这就叫做知道。”
