《論語》《憲問》14.30 :

子曰：「不患人之不己知，患其不能也。」

The Master said, “I will not be concerned at men’s not knowing me; I will be concerned at my own want of ability.”

【Alternative translation】The Master said, “Sorrow not at being unknown; sorrow for thine own shortcomings.”

【原文】子曰：「不患人之不己知，患其不能也。」

【現代漢語翻譯】孔子說：「不怕沒人瞭解自己，就怕自己沒有能力。」

【白话解】孔子说：「不要忧虑别人不了解自己，应该忧虑自己没有才能。」

【试译】孔子说：“不担心别人不知道我，只担心自己没本事。”
