《論語》《陽貨》17.3 :

子曰：「唯上知與下愚不移。」

The Master said, “There are only the wise of the highest class, and the stupid of the lowest class, who cannot be changed.”

【Alternative translation】The Master said, “Only the wisest and stupidest of men never change.”

【現代漢語翻譯】孔子說：「衹有上等人聰明和下等人愚蠢是不可改變的。」

【原文】子曰：「唯上智与下愚不移。」

【白话解】孔子说：「只有上等智能的人与下等的愚笨者，是不可以改变的。」※ 唯有上智不必移，下愚不愿移、不能移。※ 中下等根性的人，皆可以改变，习于善则善，习于恶则恶矣！

【试译】只有上等的智者和下等的愚人不可改变。
